This is the opening stage of a full detail. Thick foam is laid over the whole vehicle and left to dwell so it can soften and lift road film before anything physically touches the paint. Getting the loose grit off first is what keeps a wash from putting new swirl marks into the clear coat.
Wheels are the first thing anyone looks at and the hardest part of the car to clean properly. Machined-face wheels like this one trap baked-on brake dust in every spoke edge and lug pocket. Faces, barrels and tires all get worked with dedicated tools and chemicals on every exterior service.
The same CR-V after the wash, decontamination and protection stages are done. Look at the hood and the shoulder line — that hard, undistorted reflection is what properly cleaned and protected paint gives you. Done entirely in the owner's driveway.
Black paint is the least forgiving color there is: it shows every swirl, every water spot and every towel mark. It also rewards good work more than any other color. Wash bucket still on the ground, car already throwing reflections like glass.
White cars hide swirls but show every bit of contamination, brake dust and grime along the lower panels. The payoff is the contrast: bright, evenly clean paint against gloss black wheels and trim, with the glass and rear diffuser detailed to match.
This is what corrected and protected black paint looks like from the side: the lawn, the trees and the driveway all reflected cleanly in the doors with almost no haze. Chrome trim and window surrounds get polished separately so nothing looks dull next to the paint.
Weekend cars get a different kind of attention. Softer chemicals, more hand work, and real care around chrome, brightwork, badges and the convertible top and interior. If you have a car you actually enjoy owning, this is the kind of job I most like getting called for.
